Fingers of Fury is very excited to have the incredible Riq player Lev Elman on the team. Lev will be slowly putting a series together of Riq tutorials taking the student from the early stages of basic technique right through to the dazzling advanced playing that Lev is renowned for. In my humble opinion Lev really is one of the best players around and I am very thrilled to have him teaching at 'FoF.'

Lev and his father Benyamin also make these beautiful instruments from a range of timbers such as Walnut, Mahogany and Eucalyptus. The attention to detail is remarkable and as you can see by the photos...they are just waiting for your fingers!

In Lev's own words- "The Riqs are built by an original design combining the traditional middle eastern character with some technical and sonic innovations.
All our drums are handmade in our home studio and each instrument is built for an individual request. The jingles are hand-hammered to a varying character of sound and tuned to a common pitch and they are available with fish skin or synthetic head."
