Drum roll please! Well, that's what I will be doing in today's session anyway. Welcome to the eleventh day of the challenge. It seems we are all getting deeper and deeper into a new musical universe of sorts. What new things are opening up for you all? I have been loving the constant flow of improvised ideas and strength that comes from Day three's video. This has been my favourite exercise for many months now.  It is opening up new levels of fluency for me and means of self expression, and this I really love. In October I will be doing a concert with Faisal Zedan so this challenge and the next few months I am focusing on my fluency to 'free' myself up on the drum. With a gig like that on the horizon it gives practice a nice outcome.

Today I am focusing extra time on Turkish rolls in all of their many forms and combinations. Groups of two, three, four. Rolls inside a rhythm, rolls over the rhythm and a good strong roll completely isolated on the left hand. Sound like fun? I knew you would all say YES!!!

One more sleep and 'The Rhythmic East' is set to PREMIERE! The end of a four year project. New horizons, room in the future for new projects and the good fortune of watching the ripple created from the film itself. I am really looking forward to sharing it with you all here at 'FoF' and to the premiere tomorrow night. Finally, the big screen! Enjoy Day 11 drummers.
